Ironically, after the posting below, later that same day the two women that sparked the observation appeared together anchoring a local news telecast, the one persuaded to lighten her hair that did not but eventually succumbed to the pressure, along with the other in a new longer hair extension, what is deafening is the lack of outrage voiced by the many women’s groups that monitor diversity best practices…


In the New York area broadcast market place, progressive processes are often measured in half steps, two new on camera hires, females, have come under gentle persuasive pressure, one will not be dyeing her hair a lighter shade, (blond) the other will still be required to wear a straight hair wig, gentle and persuasive, not against the law on any level in this market place…as this blogger has repeatedly stated in some form or another, in broadcast news, worth is based on hair and hair alone…
