The Sunday Morning Shows of Chat

A colloquial overview today of all the Sunday morning political chat shows that I could monitor has found that all the females as representative of media or councilors in government, (all), either a little or a lot were engaged in the use of hair dye as well as most of the males in attendance. Also, a wide assortment of full head hair pieces and mini hair extensions were vigorously employed by an indefinite number to coverup what mother natures has reclaimed since birth. Every Sunday morning before any serious consideration can be given to anything mentioned by media or gov. reps, its hair that first must be negotiated by viewers, once that is out of the way, then they can be free to begin to process all questions and policies placed before them that is currently being measured for full discussion. While I value television as a medium for the convergence of ideas, I often just listen to some of its programing rather then watch in open avoidance of its image influences and distractions. Anyone appearing on the tele fifty years old or more, their credibility begins with a little gray hair, without it they can easily be labeled a fraud out to pull the wool over viewers eyes by not showing any sense of your true to life actual personal self, may I mention it again, a fraud. What is it some sort of narcissistic venture, fruitless though it may be that drives them on so. One last observation, I also counted sixteen set of greasy lips in appearance, mostly on the women, can’t wait for next week’s count to be tabulated, see you then…

Casting or Marketing?

When old Hollywood set about casting the 1943 musical Cabin in the Sky, I imagine there was no debate that the character of Petunia Jackson, the faithful and loyal wife would be played by Ethel Waters and the flirty vamp should be played by Lena Horne, remember this was old Hollywood, not today’s Hollywood. Just as who could or would argue with the casting of Dorothy Dandridge in the title role of Carmen Jones, desired by many of the men her character encounters. So, even today, when the casting search goes out for an actress to be the love interest for a Denzel Washington character, the call seems to call for a Lena Horne type, old Hollywood, seems not to be so old after all. As an aside, as super talented as Michael Jackson was, it can be argued that with his new manifestation, his outer adjustment, of his appearance it was just a little easier for him to be more accepted, marketed to the general population, becoming one the first to be included in its major rotation along with Prince and other ‘brown baggers’ to appear regularly on the MTV Music Channel.

White Powdered Wig

As soon as it was reported that President Ronald Reagan loved jelly beans, there was no stopping them being shipped to his White House by the pound from average American citizens, if you think that’s something, at about the same time, think of red dresses, there are more pictures of First Lady Nancy in one them than any other First Lady in history. So, it was only natural at Reagan press conferences it became popular for some members of the female press core to wear a red dress as an aid to be called upon to ask a question, and most of the time it worked like an allure.

I wonder if President Trump appeared in public wearing a white powdered wig, how long would it take for it to become not only a running fad but the norm, the height of all fashion in the District. It’s no longer debated that all this blond hair dyeing while not having been initiated by Trump but most certainly it roared to new elevations that we now find it in the White House, on most trophy wife’s, all over the air ways and in public acceptance at every turn, even among the manliest of the population. Before Trump, the description of a tall blond man or a busty blond woman, was the desired playmate, with Trump, we get added riches and power, no wonder men, some unconsciously, are falling for the fakery just as some women have added falsies to their fake blond dyed hair or wig, unmentioned but accepted as normal as George Washington did in his time adorned in a white powdered wig with a bowl of jelly bellies nearby, standing viewing Martha in a long formal red dress… These times are not a changing…so fast…

Take Charge of the News You View

This morning MSNB preempted the rebroadcast The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, don’t know if there was an O’Donnell in its regular time slot earlier since I always DVR the rebroadcast in avoidance of the news crawl, anyway, the preempted program was fast forwarded by me enabling me to notice that it ran the ‘breaking news’ banner for the entire hour, adding to its over use as a harbinger urgency…also it displayed the annoying news crawl, so, my avoidance of it would have been in vain if I had chosen to watch it. If anyone is going to enjoy watching the news the only option open to you is to take personal charge of your viewing of the news any way you can…

Had Enough, Yet?

President Donald Trump claimed he could “stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody” and not “lose any voters.” Today this failing American President, figuratively, stood up one more group of Americans and shot them. How much longer will the Republican Party stand for this steady erosion of some part of the American citizenry? Before loudly proclaiming, this is enough, not one more group…

Recalling Past Experiences

Growing up, every summer vacation my family would spend about two weeks in the birth state of my parents, Virginia. Traveling by train was a wonderful experience in those days, some even dressed up for the occasion, a well-dressed family walking down the street was either going or coming from church or traveling out of state. Before the purchase of the family automobile, Pennsylvania Station was the place of embarkation, I can still sometime remember the sight, sounds and smell of the place, hoping to someday return to bathe in that memory in real life, in real time, over the years I have forgotten about that desire, until last Sunday. While watching Treasures of New York on Public Television I learned that the old Pennsylvania Station is no more, having been done in by the soon to take a firm hold on the city in the era of Urban Renewal, reasoning that it was cheaper to demolish the old then to maintain them, never taking into serious consideration the memories that will be taken away, destroyed along with the demolition. I don’t mean to go on so, however, thanks to the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, any declared historic building now has a fighting chance of survival…

Someday I hope to publish a post describing the five stories walk up in which I was raised, two apartments on each floor an unheard of seven rooms each, the one and only one on the block, you could fire a pistol in one apartment, only hearing a little thump in the next, compared to my current building where a little whisper can be heard on every floor, to say “they don’t build them like they used to”, you ain’t just whistling Dixie…

Three Media Actors

Two actors on Fox Businesses Varney & Co., Ashley Webster, let’s just say who is over fifty, seem to be sporting just a little hair dye on top these days while another noted side kick, Elizabeth MacDonald, also over fifty who has always been relied on to provide her continuance of aged hair in denial, with an hair extension, seem to love their current shade of Orangutanian orange that is in vogue all over the air ways on display on the heads televised news anchors and contributors, which in their networks way of thinking make them more watchable in appearance then with any of their remarks alone would ever be able or hope to achieve…On today’s program featured dark haired and fiftyish Jason Chaffetz, late of congress, now a Fox contributor, hoping to make more coin there without the benefit of government and its long term bennies, but nevertheless, the chance of media advancement with super stardom in his eyes like so many who have made the transition before him and made good… One last point, if you don’t want bloggers like me writing about your hair dyeing, don’t do it, there are hundreds of congressional and media types that have not stupidly taken to dyeing their hair, not one word has ever been written about them not dyeing their hair and so it could be with you, now? no, it’s already too late you have already taken the plunge there is no walking back this deceit…
